HA! the yellow stuff is mamaliga, and the long meat thing is sausage, and the rounded things are sarmale, and idk what the other piece of meat was but it was good... our cute Christmas!!!!!!!!!!!
what a good week here in ploiești! transfers were this past saturday and my dream came true and i'm staying here! with sora dayton! this week i was reading the intro to Doctrine and Covenants. i'm not sure why i was reading there but i felt prompted to. while i was reading, i had kind of a light bulb moment, this church is the only church that has the power to perform SAVING ORDINANCES! as missionaries were not just here to just tell people that our church is the true church, but its the only church that will save all the world! lots of people on the street, after we tell them that were with the church of Jesus Christ, they say "all churches are Christ's church" that's true but not at the same time. we are the church with his power! RANTTTTTTTTTTTTT! kind of a random "DUHHHH" moment but i want to share! hehaha this week was the first snow storm but then it all disappeared, because of the rain. it got warmer here instead of getting colder! so we were getting off the bus one night, and this lady got off as well, i was texting one of our investigators and this lady started talking to sora dayton. she took us inside this big building named platul culturii, and she we entered in the room and it was a Pentecostal slujba!!!!!!!!!!!!!! it was really interesting, i had no idea what was going on, and its the first time that i have gone to another churches church services! twas an adventure! we did a family home evening this week with the coolest family, we acted out the nativity with little figurines! and then they made us stay and do our language study with them.. aka playing a game called vacation in romania! ha! i did learn new words! i hope you all have a very Merry Christmas! lots of love sent from Romania! crăciun fericit! our cute friend with a baptismal date, DARIA! says "joy!" Pentecostal church! alexandra, the one who begged us to stay and play vacation in romania! spent tonight! with this super cute birthday girl!!!!!!!!!!!!! adela turned 14! and we went ice skating! so much fun! made her brownies for her present!
this week was all about service! we had our day of service on saturday (dec 8) and it was super fun! we made soup and gave it to members that need it most and that were less active, and they ALLLLL CAME TO CHURCH!!!!!!! i have a strong testimony that service opens the hearts of people! and it's honestly like christmas morning when old members come to church! this week in general we ate soooooo muchhhhhhhhhh foooooood! it started off by eating pizza after we had seminary with our super dope awesome investigator named DARIA! who has a baptismal date! we ate like 4 slices of pizza! it was so good not to... then we had a lesson with this gyspie family that apparently has known the missionaries for a really long time, then they fed us a whole huge Romanian meal. Romanians are gross eaters FYI. the table was full of meat and tomatoes and cucumbers and loaves and loaves of bread. Romanians also LOVE their bread! THENNNNNNNNN the next day was saturday(day of service) and we ate lots of soup and then made brownies. we were at fotea family's house and they have a daughter named adela, who is 13 years old. she wanted to make brownies with us cause us americans make good brownies! (its true) then we ended up making 3 pans of brownies cause we were hungry and de ce nu! then we went to institute, a senior couple was teaching and they brought us more deserts.... yeah we gotta work out hard this week to make up for all that! #noregerts the amazing behind the scene wonder women: sora șerban mihai! a super sweet old member. he knows english and looks like yoda my cute colega serving me a lot this week! this was one of the surprises i got in the fridge!
yeah thats right eating home made lunch in mcdonalds! xoxoxoxox sora lowther this was a good week full of good romanian stuff! sorry i don't got time this week but i will send some dope pics! twas a good week celebrating romanian independence day! and eating good romanian food! the lights in centru! la multi ani! mamaliguta restaurant for sora dayton and sora broadbears 9 month mark! lots of pigeons! the food at mamaliguta! sarmalele! and the yellow stuff is mamaliga the cathedral in centru!
